Title: Youth Worker Clubs & Hubs Leader
Salary: £25-27k per year, annual increase by 1.8%
Contract: Permanent
Days & Hours: 37 hours per week
During term time hours will be Mondays to Thursday 12.40pm-8.30pm, Fridays 9.30am-4.35pm, daily lunch break. School holidays will be adjusted for holiday clubs/day trips, which will mean some days times will be approximately 9am-5pm instead.
Annual leave: 6 weeks paid holiday (2 weeks are set end of August and Christmas week) plus 8 days Bank Holidays
Optional: The post, if the successful candidate would like to study, includes a fully paid for 3-year degree (2024-2027) in JNC Youth & Community Work online course and 6-hour weekly paid study time.

Main Purpose of role:
To lead on Aptitude Youth Work Youth Clubs/Hubs and Holiday sessions by co-ordinating and delivering a high-quality programme of engaging activities for young people that are fun, safe, social, and educational.
Youth Worker Clubs & Hubs Leader Responsibilities:
* Be the lead worker at the Youth Clubs/Hubs/Holiday sessions in Radford/Foleshill/Wood End.
* Develop, deliver, and facilitate high-quality activities for young people.
* Organise the staffing rota for sessions and make arrangements for annual leave cover.
* Supervise young people and ensure general health & safety and rules of conduct.
* Write and review risk assessments for sessions.
* Build positive links with young people and promote active participation in activities.
* Support some young people through a 1:1 mentoring process.
* Maintain excellent communication with staff, network contacts, casual staff, volunteers, managers, and Directors.
* Manage and supervise staff, including leading team meetings.
* Organise the purchase of resources within the budget for effective young people’s activities.
* Manage staff effectively by delivering regular line management 1:2:1’s.
* Participate in monthly supervision regarding work with a professional supervisor.
* Ensure all duties are performed in line with corporate and legally obliging financial, safeguarding, and other policy regulations.
* Update organisation social media pages regularly and communicate with young people.
* Office-based work at one of our delivery venues or main office location.
* Occasional home working may be required.
* Support innovation of new project development and contribute to grants.
* Act as deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead regarding the Safeguarding Children Policy and keep up to date and accurate records.
* Co-ordinate necessary programme set-up and clean-up, put away equipment, empty bins, and cleaning.
* Undertake required record-keeping procedures including leading team meetings, planning, and evaluation of sessions.
* Work in partnership with professionals from other organisations that support young people.
* Support staff development through coaching, role modelling, appraisal processes, and all staff development activity.
* Any other duties and responsibilities which may arise and correspond with the post.
* Identify, develop, and train volunteers.

The post holder must comply with the Interagency procedures of the Safeguarding Boards policies for safeguarding children and is required:
* To ensure they are aware of the signs that may suggest a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected.
* To report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, their manager, or Director, any concerns they may have that suggest that a child or vulnerable adult may be being abused or neglected immediately.

Person Specification
Knowledge
Essential:
* Educated to minimum Level 3 or A Levels in Youth Work, Sports, Counselling, Teaching, Social Care, or other relevant profession.
* Educated to GCSEs Maths and English Grade A-C or Functional skills pass.
* Safeguarding Young People Level 1 or higher.
* Knowledge of local community, its voluntary organisations, and agencies.
* Full and clean driving licence and has a car they can use for work.
Desirable:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience of supervising staff.
* Educated to diploma or degree level in a relevant profession.
* First Aid qualification, Food Hygiene Certificate, Health & Safety Certificate.
* Qualification/experience in sport/music or art-related areas.
Experience
Essential:
* Experience of dealing with a range of issues facing young people from various backgrounds.
* At least 2 years’ experience in leading projects and direct delivery of young people's projects.
* Working with young people aged 8 – 25 from disadvantaged communities and at risk of becoming involved in crime.
* Experience of leading delivery of community-based youth activities for young people.
* Responding to safeguarding concerns and working within Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Desirable:
* Demonstrable track record in developing people, processes, and policy.
* Experience of Mentoring Young People.
* Supporting young people who have SEND needs, particularly ASD or ADHD.
