Located a minute away from Windsor Great Park, and 10 minutes away from Windsor, in a beautiful country setting with 251 bedrooms including over 30 opulent suites. The property is large with over 30 acres of grounds, consisting of mixed and herbaceous beds and borders, natural areas with long grasses, parkland, trees, lawns, lakes, formal areas, and a kitchen garden. You will be passionate about gardening whilst developing the function and maintaining relationships with our residents.
As our Gardener, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the South Lawn Wedding Terrace, but also to support the other areas of the garden working under the leadership of the Head Gardener. The ideal candidate will need to have strong horticultural knowledge and experience in working at a high level. A candidate should be happy to work alone and also as a team.
The role will suit a knowledgeable, confident, hardworking Gardener who can communicate well with others while working within a small team. You will have a sense of creativity and aesthetics, with a strong attention to detail, working hand-in-hand with the standards of the hotel.
What we are looking for:
* Experience of working in a productive kitchen garden / farm / allotment, growing seasonal produce.
* Previous experience of working on the grounds of a large estate with strong general plant knowledge.
* Competent to work in compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Ability to work on your own in your own designated area, as well as within a team environment.
* A confident individual with strong communication skills.
* Practical hands-on experience in the maintenance of large gardens: lawn care, hedge trimming, pest and weed control, border management, design, and maintenance.
* Some experience of maintaining hard landscaping and external facilities.
* Experience of using the typical range of garden tools and machinery, including ride on mower and tractor.
* Any qualifications within the horticultural trade would be desirable (Pa1/Pa6 and chainsaw).
