SEND Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Key Stage 4 (Higher Ability) - Preston
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teacher for a maternity cover position at a well-regarded secondary special school in Preston. This role involves working with higher ability Key Stage 4 students, delivering a tailored curriculum that fosters both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of higher ability KS4 students with SEND.
Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure individual learning objectives are achieved.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff, therapists, and parents, to create a supportive learning environment.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in teaching students with SEND.
Strong understanding of the KS4 curriculum and the ability to differentiate content to meet individual needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working in a special school setting.
Additional qualifications or training in SEND education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
