Role Summary
* Days of Employment: Normal shift pattern will be any 5 working days from 7.
* Working Hours: 8.5 hours per day. This includes a 30-minute unpaid break.
* Normal Working Hours: Variable shift pattern consisting of the following shifts:
* Shift 1: 0600-1430hrs
* Shift 2: 1000-1830hrs
* Shift 3: 1400-2230hrs
* Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
To support business performance and compliance, we are recruiting an ambitious innovative Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated and inspirational team.
As a multi skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be accountable for the electrical and mechanical diagnosis, analysis, and repair of nutraceutical manufacturing and packaging process equipment.
You will be expected to support your team and production colleagues in ensuring downtime is minimised through preventative action and prioritising rectification of machine faults. You will advise on technical issues, resolve and share best practice to reduce recurrence. Working in collaboration with your engineering and production colleagues, you will strive for opportunities to deliver enhanced plant improvements through innovative ideas and continuous improvement service offering.
Responsibilities:
Key Tasks:
* Carry out planned maintenance on production machinery in line with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Diagnose causes of, and repair equipment breakdowns. Focusing on a “First Time Fix” methodology.
* Ensure plant and equipment downtime is minimised through efficient response times, continuous improvements, data acquisition, and analysis.
* Maintain a positive focus on costs, quality, and health and safety.
* Monitor production Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and work to improve these metrics.
* Accurately complete all relevant operational documentation to a high standard.
* Maintain allergen awareness.
* Ensure compliance with company HR, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Hygiene policies and procedures.
Individual & Team Responsibilities:
* Keep team members informed of ongoing projects, breakdown issues, temporary repairs, and modifications. Provide detailed handovers at the end of each shift.
* Foster a proactive and harmonious team culture by providing support, assistance, advice, or specific skills and knowledge.
* Operate within a shift system requiring integration and cooperation across various tasks, and teams.
* Perform additional duties, projects, or responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager or designate deputy.
* Undertake relevant training courses, including Company Induction, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, and Food Safety training.
* Ensure the upkeep, control, and cleanliness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Skills/Experience/Qualifications
The role of Maintenance Engineer is multifaceted and requires both industry-specific qualifications and management abilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Essential Qualifications and Training:
* Relevant engineering qualifications & licences (minimum, L3). Ideally, accredited cross trade qualification.
* Relevant field experience in manufacturing engineering.
* Understanding of food manufacturing legislation & Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
* Experience of automatic filling, capping, blister packaging, labelling machinery.
* Excellent computer literacy and knowledge ERP/MS applications.
Specialist, General, and Desirable Knowledge:
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Detailed knowledge of manufacturing equipment and/or processes and of the safety requirements in the maintenance and repair. Ideally, knowledge of equipment, such as:
* Capsule manufacturing equipment.
* Tablet manufacturing equipment.
* Gummy manufacturing equipment.
* Softgel manufacturing equipment.
* Packaging line equipment.
* Blending equipment.
* Mental detection equipment.
