We currently have an exciting vacancy for a social work senior practitioner within Trafford Mental Health Services, part of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Working in South Trafford Community Mental Team you will join our Multi-Disciplinary Team alongside Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and STR workers. We are looking for an experienced social worker to provide social work leadership in the community mental health team, promoting the significant contribution that mental health social work makes to the delivery of mental health care.
You will work closely with service users with serious and enduring mental illness, who may also have substance misuse problems, Autism, Asperger’s or mild to moderate Learning Disability. You will focus on social inclusion and recovery, helping people to live as independently as possible.

About the Role:
The post holder will provide social work leadership in the team, maintaining close links with colleagues in Adult Social Care. You will provide clinical supervision to social workers, helping our social work staff identify opportunities to develop, and direct staff towards relevant learning resources. You will manage a limited caseload of complex cases, act as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) working on our Borough wide rota, provide guidance in relation to the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, and contribute to service development to ensure that social work values are fully represented and where appropriate chair meetings, particularly in relation to safeguarding enquiries.
Additional Information:
Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours as we offer support to our service users 7 days/week 9am-5pm (operated on a Rota system).
