Job Description
Background:
Due to increased workload and securing of new clients within the Infrastructure, Real Estate and Natural Resources sectors, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for a Senior Consultant - Commercial to join our growing Contract Services division.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
1. work with and support the leading of an outstanding team of specialist consultants,
2. advise major clients on large scale / flagship projects,
3. challenge themselves in a market leading global business.
The wider team also includes specialists in procurement and contract strategy, claims management and dispute resolution services. The intention is to develop the right applicant within the Contract Services division, offering a distinct opportunity to rapidly progress their career within an entrepreneurial and expanding division.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking to recruit a talented Senior Consultant - Commercial who has the skills detailed below and feels their experience will support the commercial transformation of our clients’ programmes and organisations.
This is an exciting opportunity to support our world-renowned clients in developing, implementing, and optimising commercial and contract strategies on the largest major projects and programmes.
Our Contract Services division continues to grow significantly and possesses a strong track record of delivering complex procurement and commercial strategies from project inception through to contract award for public and private sector clients on major programmes both in the UK and internationally.
Duties:
4. Development and implementation of innovative commercial and contract strategies aligned to our clients’ key outcomes
5. Collaboration with the client’s stakeholders to manage the delivery of project deliverables and objectives.
6. The provision of commercial support and decision making to clients to ensure delivery of their strategic objectives.
7. Business development and marketing of procurement services provided by Turner & Townsend.
8. Delivery of both team and wider business targets.
9. Management of client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverables.
Qualifications
Skills:
In particular we are looking for an individual with strong experience and knowledge across the following:
10. Development of incentivisation strategies and cost models to include pain/gain mechanisms
11. Development of tender documentation, including pricing documents and commercial evaluation
12. Creation of performance metrics such as KPIs aligned to project critical success factors
13. Supporting in the drafting of contracts, with a commercial focus
14. Ability to model and stress-test commercial solutions
15. Management of tender processes through to contract award
16. Regulated procurement experience
17. Business generation including supporting with bid development
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
18. Knowledge of various forms of construction contracts with particular focus on NEC3/4.
19. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
20. Has supported with the development of commercial strategies and tender preparation
21. Ability to maintain excellent working relationships and work autonomously without supervision.
22. Be able to manage client delivery work alongside contributing to Turner & Townsend internal initiatives.
23. Excellent communication skills, adaptable, with a determination to succeed.
Desirable:
24. Preferably possess a degree related to quantity surveying or procurement and/or hold, working towards or willing to work towards MCIPS or MRICS.
25. Hold SC or BPSS level of security clearance
26. Be able to manage work/business development/career development activities
