Supplier Quality Engineer in Cheswick, Pennsylvania
We are searching for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Quality Team.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Serving a key role in the Quality Assurance organization to ensure both customer and company quality requirements are met.
2. Integral to developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality assurance program in direct support of design, manufacture, procurement, and supply of items, services, and materials to ensure compliance.
3. Comfortable working with specifications and standards (e.g., NRC, ASME, ISO, customer contracts) to provide leadership to other team members.
4. Interact with vendors, regulatory agency representatives, along with internal and external customers.
5. Participate in the resolution of quality problems and provide information as required.
6. Help lead audits when necessary; some travel is expected at approximately 25%.
7. Evaluate contract proposals translating customer, regulatory, and code requirements into supplier internal use instructions.
8. Execute supplier oversight activities, including surveillance activities, commercial grade surveys, and audits.
9. Implement risk mitigation toolkits with suppliers like FMEA and Control Plans.
10. Evaluate suppliers to take appropriate corrective/preventive actions by performing data analysis.
11. Oversee critical processes to ensure product quality.
12. Ensure that supplier requirements are met.
13. Interface with suppliers and customers, both internal and external.
14. Support supplier development and the resolution of technical issues with suppliers.
15. Support quality compliance with documented procedures for functional responsibility.
16. Be active in planning and implementing quality assurance programs on customer orders, including:
1. Supplier qualification evaluation and selection.
2. Creation of inspection plans, measurement methods, and recording forms.
3. Implementing Quality Assurance systems, methods, and procedures.
4. Using statistical methods to evaluate process capabilities.
5. Review and approve drawings, routings, requisitions, specifications, procedures, supplier certifications, quality inspection plans, and similar documents.
6. Provide technical support to inspectors and operators.
7. Review, evaluate, and respond to customer and supplier correspondence.
8. Participate in the preparation and maintenance of quality program manuals and procedures.
9. Develop and implement quality improvement programs aimed at designing and re-engineering quality techniques and processes that impact cost, time, and quality objectives.
10. Assist other departments as necessary in establishing standards relative to ensuring product quality.
11. Participate in internal audits.
12. Ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and drive actions to completion.
What you Bring:
1. US Sole Citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
2. BS in an Engineering or related discipline.
3. 5+ years of experience in a relevant field.
4. Preferred experience in:
1. Nuclear Power Industry or Navy Nuclear or other regulated Industries (e.g., aerospace, transportation, biotech, etc.).
2. Lead Auditor certification.
3. ASQ Certifications.
