Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in attending to the individual needs of residents and to monitor them during the day or night.
The successful candidate will
1. Maintain a record of residents' personal care needs in accordance with procedures and guidelines. Carry out routine risk assessments for clients and care planning. Complete daily contact sheets to show events affecting residents.
2. Report any issues (both personal and environmental) concerning the welfare of residents to ensure a continuing high standard of care to senior carers. Share information on individual residents’ care needs by liaising with residents, relatives, and senior staff to ensure a continuing high standard of care.
3. Spend time with the residents (both at the unit and on external trips) in order to build and maintain relationships and social contact. Shop on clients’ behalf when necessary.
4. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in residents’ rooms, including labelling of personal clothes and tidying of cupboards/drawers to ensure individual comfort. Assist in maintaining individual standards of hygiene in accordance with clients’ wishes so that personal dignity is retained.
5. Undertake appropriate activities with clients as identified in their care plans. This may refer to their interests in gardening, car maintenance, cookery, etc.
Requirements
1. Previous experience working in care
2. Health care certification, level 2/3 health is advantageous
3. An active DBS
4. Right to work in the UK
