We are seeking to recruit an innovative and experienced Advanced Orthoptist for a fixed term / secondment period of 12 months at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Addenbrooke's Hospital is large teaching hospital and a research centre with strong affiliations with Cambridge University. It has a rich history of breaking the barriers of modern medicine and providing compassionate care for patients.
Be legally and professionally responsible for delivering highly skilled and comprehensive care in the management of complex Paediatric and Adult Orthoptics at Addenbrooke's NHS Trust.
Provide high quality Orthoptic Service as an autonomous Practitioner.
Provide highly specialist role in delivering orthoptic assessment and care to Neurology, Paediatric Neurology, Stroke, Maxillo-facial, Endocrinology, Genetics, SCBU, Endocrine (including thyroid and diabetes) and Emergency Department.
Provide teaching, supervision and support to Orthoptic undergraduates and multidisciplinary staff.
Be responsible for undertaking and coordinating audits and CPD activities and actively participating in departmental research studies.
Required to ensure that the policies and procedures of the Department of Orthoptics and Addenbrooke's NHS Trust are adhered to.
Support and mentor junior members of staff.
Deputise in the absence of the Head Orthoptist, managing other staff and assisting with the management of the Orthoptic Service when required.
