For this role, you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work 0800am-0800pm/0800pm-0800am depending if night or day shift.

The Home
Bradley Court is a 12-bedded nursing home for Learning Disability and challenging behaviour. Bradley Court was opened in August 2020 and was commissioned with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. We take great pride in our nursing home, providing high-quality care and person-centred care. Bradley Court aims to provide a home away from home feeling for our residents. We offer our staff a range of training programmes, including positive behaviour support, safety intervention and other training opportunities to assist our staff to progress in their careers. In February 2024, Bradley Court was commended in the Champions of Care Awards as the Special Recognition 1st Runner Up.
The Role
Care Assistants at Healthcare Ireland play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our Homes, providing essential support and assistance to Residents to ensure their wellbeing and comfort. Care Assistants are part of our frontline team, responsible for delivering personalised care and assistance with activities of daily living. This role involves driving duties, taking residents to and from appointments and activities.
Our Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to Residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion and advocacy for Residents' rights and preferences.
Collaborating with Nurses, Wellbeing team, families and external healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and person-centred care, Care Assistants are essential in our mission to provide excellent care.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist qualified staff with care plans, tasks and activities to support the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
* Assist residents in taking them out for any appointments or activities.
* Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved.
* Assist residents with eating, drinking, washing, dressing and going to the toilet.
* Assess and observe the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents, recognising changes and reporting as necessary in a timely manner.
* Maintain accurate records, communicating effectively with residents and their families.
* Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria

* Be NISCC registered or eligible to register.
* Valid UK driving license - age 25+ due to insurance purposes.
Desired Criteria
* Qualifications in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Previous experience within a care setting.
* Educated to NVQ 2 level is desirable.
