We are looking for a Section Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Penrith, Cumbria.
What you'll do:
* Keep a detailed construction diary, ensure works are carried out as per the relevant ITPs and a programme tracker, and maintain a 6-week lookahead programme.
* Liaise with stakeholders and station operation staff. This role is office and site-based.
* Liaise with survey team, health and safety, environmental, design manager, foremen, Sub-agent/Agent.
* Ensure all works on site are carried out safely and in accordance with the implemented WPP and health and safety policies, and the SMS and EMS requirements are fulfilled.
* Ensure that workers on site are briefed on the job, site inducted, and are following the appropriate procedures.
* Ensure health, safety, and environmental issues are reported to the health and safety and environmental officers, and any concerns are highlighted to all.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or BTec in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering.
* Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).
* Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management – SMSTS/Seats etc.
* Previously worked in Rail/Major infrastructure projects.
* Working history in steelwork, demolition, and/or fit-out packages.
