Job Title: Commercial Finance Director
Reports to: Head of Commercial Finance
Location: Sheffield or Chesterfield
Working hours: 37.5 per week, worked between Monday to Friday (part-time options considered)
Objective: To provide support and advice to UK businesses seeking commercial finance solutions, including both new leads and existing BHP clients, managing those leads through to completion.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Generate new business enquiries, understand funding requirements, assess opportunity and eligibility, and present funding proposals on behalf of BHP clients to the market.
2. Assist the client in identifying the most appropriate funding solution, establish the client/lender relationship, and manage the application process to completion.
3. Maintain strong working relationships with the lender panel.
4. Oversee accurate recording on the lender platform, CRM systems and pipeline, including quotations.
5. Work to establish BHP Commercial Finance brand presence in client and lender markets for the South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire region.
6. Utilise product and market expertise to build an external pipeline of new target clients.
7. Build strong relationships with BHP clients and staff, increasing knowledge and understanding of the Commercial Finance offering to leverage cross-selling.
8. Compliance with all mandatory policies and adherence to operational procedures to maintain internal controls.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience in a commercial finance or banking and finance role(s).
2. Sound knowledge of the commercial finance market, products and solutions.
3. Experience in providing an efficient, friendly and professional point of contact for clients.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills utilised in a client management and business development setting.
5. Enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated to build internal relationships across different service lines.
6. Confident and articulate with a strong attention to detail.
7. Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
8. Confident in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, along with a good working knowledge of industry software such as back-office systems, platforms and illustration tools.
9. Finance/banking industry qualifications (desired).
