Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in West Bristol, supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs in KS3.
About the Role:
1. Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (term-time only).
2. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
3. Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation strategies, and positive behaviour.
4. Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
5. Support pupils who may have ADHD, attachment disorders, anxiety, or other additional needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs, or additional learning difficulties (desirable but not essential).
2. Strong resilience, patience, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviour.
3. A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
4. Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
