What you'll do
As a Senior Buyer within the World Foods team at Sainsbury’s, you will own, deliver and optimise the buying and selling strategy for key areas within a high growth, fast paced category, including our South Asian, Halal, African, Caribbean & Mediterranean ranges. This is a stretching, high profile role where you will play a pivotal role in stepping on our World Foods proposition, owning and delivering a strategy that will support Sainsbury’s to become First Choice for customers, and deliver our ‘Good Food for All of Us’ purpose.
1. Negotiate across a broad and complex supply base, showcasing an adaptable approach that advances positive supplier relationships.
2. Manage multi-temperature state categories across Grocery, Chilled & Frozen, negotiating cost savings and trade plans across a diverse assortment. With an eye for detail, you will ensure we deliver the best quality ranges and value to our customers.
3. Analyse financial, market and customer data with confidence, navigating ambiguity, identifying opportunities and making decisions that deliver positive results.
4. Influence key stakeholders across the business to drive engagement and commitment to delivering our First Choice for World Foods strategy, through effective communication and collaboration.
5. Deliver ambitious market-leading events propositions, working effectively cross functionally to deliver successful outcomes in our biggest World Food events; Ramadan and Diwali. These are high priority events for the business, and you will lead, develop and implement customer-centric strategies to ensure we continue to grow ahead of the market.
6. Work with range analysts to build appropriate product ranges that deliver commercial advantages and meet the needs of our diverse customers.
7. Deliver to business targets on sales, profit, value and market share.
