Due to company growth, we are now actively seeking to appoint a dynamic experienced Quality Assurance Officer.
About your new role with us:
* Maintain and monitor QA objectives and activities supporting our corporate business plan and quality policies.
* Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance the Quality Assurance System and documentation to support delivery of the broader business objectives & goals.
* Conduct internal checks to ensure FAIs and other in-process quality assurance tests are being performed in accordance with procedures.
* Conduct routine inspections of factory, its processes and product in accordance with our standards.
* Prepare, review and monitor policies, procedures and work instructions.
* Liaise with customers, auditors and external parties as required.
* Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
About you:
* Engineering and/or Science Degree/Qualification
* A strong manufacturing background.
* Familiarity using ERP systems in manufacturing.
* 8D Problem Solving.
* Technical aptitude with good mathematical and analysis skills
* An innovative mindset.
* Competent in MS Office especially Excel.
* Plan, develop and lead ideas for improvement.
* Use Lean principles such as Kanban to eliminate waste.
* Thrive in leading and seeing your initiatives support the business strategy and growth.
* Quality and continuous improvement excite you and change management is one of your strengths.
* You will have a formal qualification in Quality/OHS/Steel Testing.
* In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 standards will be highly regarded.
* Previous experience in a quality assurance/quality management role and ideally steel testing within a steel fabrication/sheet metal manufacturing environment.
* Outstanding planning, organisation and scheduling skills/experience.
Responsibilities:
* Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
* Monitor all operations that affect quality.
* Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff.
* Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
* Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied.
* Report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action.
* Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
* Review current standards and policies.
* Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation.
* Ensure all legal standards are met.
* Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections.
