The Role Based from either of our depot in Livingston, you will be part of a skilled team of operatives undertaking all civil engineering tasks primarily associated with Openreach frame and cover contract and drainage works but including all works required of our client contracts. Job Purpose You will be responsible for undertaking all jobs competently and safely in a professional manner ensuring safe working practices whilst instilling client confidence in our company’s abilities. Principal Accountabilities · Ensure compliance with respect to Health and Safety, Quality and Environment · Ensure Company policies are always adhered to. · Ensure all site related incidents are reported. · Identify and react swiftly to resolve problems before they escalate. · Responsible for civil engineering tasks completed on site. · Responsible for producing high quality results, reports, and feedback. · Always establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems. · You need to be flexible too: we operate 24/7 so there will be early starts, weekend working and an out-of-hours working across the UK The Person Qualifications · NRSWA – Full Course · Confined Space · Manual Handling · First Aid at Work · Machine ticket (excavator above/below 10t) – desirable. Openreach MA003 – Online Course. Openreach SA006 – Safe Working In Civils. Openreach Q24 – Frame & Cover Renewal in Carriageway. Openreach Q25 – Frame & Cover Renewal in Footway · Full Driving licence Knowledge & Experience Experience of Civil Engineering tasks including: Manual & mechanical excavations Reinstatement works. Plant & Machinery operation Manual handling Manhole entry/exit. Shoring Tarring (desirable) Technical knowledge and competency with regard to drainage and drainage repairs. Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety Skills & Personal Qualities · Ability to communicate both up and down within Ipsum and the Client Organisation · Excellent communication skills · Excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks to deadline. · Professional and positive approach · Self-motivated and organised. · Flexible attitude and approach. · Team player, and able to work on own initiative.
