SEN Teaching Assistant We are working with a client secondary school located in the heart of Urmston, dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience for all our students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the pastoral team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programs that meet the unique needs of each student. You will work closely with students who may have varying degrees of learning difficulties, emotional challenges, or physical disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Support Learning: Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that accommodate the diverse needs of students with SEN. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively. Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and manage any challenging behaviours in accordance with school policies. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to assessments as required by teaching staff. Encouragement & Motivation: Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging students’ independence and self-esteem through praise and constructive feedback. Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge related to special education. Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to use your initiative when necessary.
