They provide a safe and supportive environment for students aged 5 - 16 who have associated social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). About the role: As a teaching assistant, you will: Play a pivotal role in caring, nurturing and inspiring young people both inside and outside the classroom. Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them to engage in their learning and access the curriculum Assist the teacher with lesson planning, preparation and delivery Provide social and emotional support to the students, adopting a holistic approach to their development About you: To be successful in this role, you will: Have previous experience working with children, preferably within an educational setting Have experience working with individuals with special educational needs Be patient, resilient, calm and hard-working Be an excellent team player and willing to get stuck in Due to the nature of the students, you must be confident in managing challenging behaviour and able to adopt the appropriate support strategies. This role is suitable for people from a variety of backgrounds such as: sports coaches, youth workers, care and support workers. This will be a full time position, working Monday to Friday, term time only, 08:30 - 15:30.
