As an Ambulatory Detox Support Volunteer, you will play a supporting role in co-facilitating the day program designed for clients undergoing a two-week alcohol out-patient detoxification process. This program includes structured activities including group discussions, educational sessions, and the viewing of informative videos that promote recovery and provide essential coping strategies. Your responsibilities will extend to assisting in the implementation of the daily timetable, ensuring that all scheduled activities are conducted smoothly and effectively. You will work closely with medical staff and recovery coordinators to create a safe and supportive environment for clients as they navigate their detox journey. Your involvement will also include providing pre-and post-detox support, which entails supporting recovery coordinators to facilitate one-to-one and group sessions, making follow-up telephone calls, and assisting with signposting clients to additional resources and support services. Your compassionate presence and proactive engagement will be crucial in helping clients feel understood and motivated to continue their recovery path. Training and shadowing opportunities will be provided so you feel confident and supported. If you think you could add value to this exciting new opportunity, we would like to hear from you.
