We have opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenging yet rewarding role to join us as a Scheme support officer at our Young Persons Supported Housing project on a full-time (37hrs), fixed term (maternity cover) basis.
Where does the role fit in?
The Grange is a supported accommodation scheme that provides short term, temporary, emergency accommodation to young, homeless people aged 16 to 25. The Grange offers opportunity for the young people to engage in activities and training which will allow them to develop the necessary skills to manage a tenancy and to live independently.
What is great about the role?
At the Grange, we provide support and accommodation to up to 10 people who are experiencing homelessness. Our focus is not just on providing housing related support, but we also allow our residents to access external services to support them with any other needs they may have, such as mental health and/or substance misuse.
We strive to ensure that all residents receive the very best support to enable and empower them to regain control and to sustain independence.
Day to Day Duties:
As a Scheme Support Officer, you will work alongside the Project Workers providing the crucial support to our young people and supporting them to reach their goals and aspirations identified in their personal support plans.
Your day will consist of:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Planning and delivering workshops relating to tenancy management, health, and wellbeing
Supporting the young people as directed by the Project Worker according to the support plan specifically tailored to each individual
Welfare checks/flat checks

Reception duties as and when required

Our aim is to ensure we equip our young people with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour.
You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.
