The QHSE Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards within my client's organisation.
A brief overview of the responsibilities:
1. Risk Assessment:
1. Ensure comprehensive risk assessments are in place for all activities with significant hazards and foreseeable risks.
2. Provide guidance on completing risk assessments and review them as required.
3. Advise departmental managers when reviews are necessary.
4. Oversee the completion of risk assessments when requested.
2. Auditing, Monitoring, and Review:
1. Conduct internal audits and inspections according to a schedule.
2. Collate details of findings and required corrective/preventive actions arising from audits and inspections.
3. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental controls for remote workers.
3. Management Systems & Accreditations:
1. Support and maintain existing management systems in line with ISO standards.
2. Act as the site contact for relationships with accreditation bodies and attend surveillance audits.
4. Fire / Emergency Planning:
1. Develop appropriate procedures for preventing emergency situations.
2. Coordinate routine testing of emergency provisions, including fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
5. Liaison with Enforcement Agencies:
1. Act as the site point of contact for all communications with enforcement authorities.
2. Develop positive relationships with enforcement agencies.
6. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
1. Ensure prompt reporting of accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses.
2. Coordinate investigations into reported events, especially significant incidents.
3. Maintain accurate records and generate comprehensive statistics.
Experience qualifications:
1. NEBOSH General Certificate of Occupational Safety and Health
2. NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety
3. Internal Environmental Auditor
4. Inspection of PPE - Competent Person
5. Roof Safety, Access & RF Awareness
6. NRSWA - Signing, Lighting and Guarding - Unit 10 Supervision
7. Lifting Equipment Inspection and Record Keeping
8. IPAF - MEWPS for Managers
9. Emergency First Aid at Work
10. Manual Handling
11. SAQ 5.0 experience
12. Police Security Vetted to National Non-Police Personnel Standard +SC
