Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7) to join a private hospital team in Hertfordshire. The position offers a rewarding role in providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing advice on pharmaceutical care, and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (with 30-minute break) OR Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm (with 1-hour break)
Start Date: ASAP, with a start window in December or January
Duration: Minimum of 6 months (with possible extension)
Hourly Rates: £27ph - £37ph, depending on experience
Shift Pattern: Full-time, weekdays only
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients, ensuring safe and effective use of medications
2. Conduct patient medication reviews and offer advice on pharmaceutical care
3. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient treatment plans
4. Monitor the safety and effectiveness of drug therapies, adjusting as necessary
5. Educate patients on proper medication use and potential side effects
6. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital standards
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
2. Previous experience in a clinical pharmacy role, preferably in a hospital setting
3. Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Knowledge of current pharmacy practice and regulations
6. Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
Desirable Skills:
1. Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (e.g., Clinical Diploma or MSc)
2. Experience working in a private healthcare setting
