We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join our team in Lewes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring that all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment. The nursery is looking for someone with proven experience in leadership to join the team, making sure the staff have the skills and training to provide a nurturing experience for children. The role has support from an administrator, allowing more time to be freed up for yourself to embed yourself within the day-to-day running of the setting. The nursery is a medium-sized setting operating within the hours of 8am until 6pm. There is space within the nursery for an outdoor classroom, playground, green spaces, and a forest school opposite. The nursery has good transport links to Brighton and Hove, is a short walk from the train station, and has on-site parking.
Upon starting, you will be given a three-month induction with the current Manager to ensure you are fully trained and onboarded ahead of starting the role solely. The role includes a rewarding package, with market-leading pay as well as loan facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the nursery operates efficiently and effectively.
* Ensure that all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment.
* Build strong relationships with parents and other stakeholders to ensure that the nursery meets the needs of the local community.
* Lead and motivate a team of nursery staff to deliver outstanding results.
* Extend Forest School spaces within the nursery.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the early years sector.
* A relevant childcare qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership and management experience.
* A passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children.
* Forest School qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
