Shop Floor Team Leader/Mechanical Fitter/Installation Engineer 70% Mechanical Fitting / 30% Installation Nelson Lancashire Competitive Rate/hour + Overtime + Pension + Medical + Free parking. Our Client is an International Supplier of Special Purpose Machinery and are now looking to recruit a time served Engineer to join their team based in Nelson, Lancashire. We are seeking a motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer interested in joining our Small to Medium Enterprise as we continue to expand. You will split your time between leading the assembly team, but will also be required to be an active member of the team and assemble eqipment when required. You will be required to work between the factory and installations across the UK & overseas. Duties will include, but will not be limited to: Shop Floor Team Leader • Plan shop floor assembly activities, ensuring all components are available in time for build. • Represent the shop floor at Operational reviews to feedback on progress, advise on any issues and highlight risks. • Liaise with the drawing office to understand any special build requirements and resolve quality issues. • Understand the importance of Health and Safety, Quality and drive to improve. Mechanical Fitter/Installation Engineer • Assembly of various machines using 2-D assembly drawings and 3-D models as build references. • Installation, commissioning, and start-up of machines on Customer Sites. • Complete site surveys to support customers quotations and machine breakdowns. • Complete Troubleshooting and Fault Finding to help determine root cause. • Engage in and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). • The successful applicant will be able to turn their hand to whatever is required in a small, fast paced company. The Engineer will be multi-skilled; the following skills are essential for the role: - • Positive "can-do" attitude, with a willingness to learn and go the extra mile to deliver commitments. • Previous experience in leading engineering teams. • Ability to prioritise workloads in a high-pressure environment. • Competent with the use of Microsoft Office 365 products. i.e. Excel, Word etc. • Bench fitting & assembly. • Ability to read mechanical assembly drawings. • Good mechanical engineering / fitting skills • Pneumatic experience • Experience in working with items such as motors, conveyors, pumps, tanks, valves, sensors, couplings & gearboxes. • Fault finding / troubleshooting on production and process equipment The following skills are an advantage for the role, but not essential: - • A full clean driving licence. We are looking for a motivated Engineer who is keen to learn and develop, with plenty of growth potential within the business. Also, helpful would be: • Ability to use CAD design software to interpret assembly drawings (AutoCAD 2D & Inventor 3D). • Experience working with Food Processing Machinery.
