Job summary About the Job Senior School Nurse £41,511- £44,711 inclusive of high cost area supplement - LBN P03 equivalent to AfC Band 6 A Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Qualification in School Nursing is essential to have for this role. The Senior School Nurse will be professionally responsible and accountable for the assessment of health needs, planning and evaluation of the School Health Service delivery, for both individuals and groups within a defined school age population. As a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), you will have lead responsibilities for specific areas of School Health caseload. The job involves supporting the Specialist Clinical Leads, working in partnership with schools, parents/carers and other agencies to achieve the best health outcomes for children and young people. The School nurse works within the School Health Service, to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. Main duties of the job Identifying, supporting, planning, delivering and evaluating health promotion activities in line with the school curriculum and locally agreed priorities. Devising appropriate individualised health care plans for the school aged child through continuous development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. Contribution to the assessment and review of special education and medical needs. Working collaboratively in partnership with children, young people, parents/carers and other agencies, e.g. education, social services, other healthcare workers and the voluntary sector to meet the needs of children and young people.
