Peverell Park Surgery is looking to employ an experienced General Practice Nurse who can take on the role of Clinical Lead Manager for the nursing team, working alongside the current Lead Nurse for LTC.
The role has been created to help manage and assist our expanding nursing team. Main duties will include student placements and training, CQC management, updates, PGDs, and assisting with the coordination of LTC care and structured practice nurse-based clinics.

There will be elements of HR such as appraisals, training, and recruitment. You will work closely with the LTC lead nurse and the Managing Partner to plan, develop, and deliver all nursing services.
You must have worked as a General Practice Nurse, as you will be leading on training and facilitating development opportunities.

Peverell Park Surgery and The University Medical Centre are managed by one team, with 60+ staff and over 25,000 patients.
We have a nursing team of 8, consisting of 2 Phlebotomists, 1 Nursing Associate, and 4 RGNs. This role is being created to assist with all managerial aspects involved in developing and training a vibrant nursing team. We aim to develop and expand our team further to allow all LTC clinics to be nurse-led, increasing our capacity as a nurse training site and offering more places to ensure the continued development of General Practice Nursing.
Job responsibilities
1. Understand own role and scope within the Practice, responding to changes.
2. Hold regular team meetings to maintain lines of communication.
3. Attend and contribute to relevant internal and external meetings as required.
4. Provision and promotion of evidence-based practice.
5. Remain up to date with pertinent health policies, working with the practice team to consider the impact and strategies for implementation.
6. Monitor effectiveness of clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as clinical audit and peer reviews.
7. Provide clinical leadership within the nursing team, directing and supporting others through relevant change and new ways of working.
8. Develop the clinical staff within their roles, ensuring appropriate mentoring and support to maximize staff performance.
9. Organize and coordinate the provision of nursing services for the Practice, including appropriate delegation of duties, rota, holiday, training, and study leave.
10. Develop and maintain relevant policies and protocols that are within the Lead Practice Nurse role responsibility, ensuring appropriate delegation to other personnel and maintaining such policies and protocols.
11. Line manage staff members according to the Practice organizational plan.
12. Work with the Head of Clinical Services to maximize all areas of income for the Practice.
13. Minimize expenditure for the Practice while ensuring high standards of care are provided.
14. Develop, deliver, and maintain primary nurse-led services including long-term conditions, maintaining disease registers in liaison with administrative staff.
15. Oversee infection prevention control within the Practice, ensuring audits are performed timely and changes are reflected in the policies.
16. Ensure effective communication links between IPC clinical leads, links, and Facilities Manager.
17. Ensure any changes to policies are cascaded accordingly to the relevant practice team.
