Your Role
EF York is looking for a responsible and energetic individual to join our Residence Team for summer 2025 as a Residence Coordinator. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and fun living environment for our international students while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. This role provides a great opportunity for you to build your organisational and leadership skills in a supportive, team-focused environment. This is a live-in position where accommodation and full board are provided at no extra cost. Roles run from June/July – August 2025.
Responsibilities
* Ensures the smooth running of the student residences
* To ensure the residences provide a comfortable, safe living environment
* To provide the highest level of customer service at all times
* To help maintain ‘one team’, where the different departments liaise and interact effectively and efficiently
* Allocates new bookings to residential accommodation
* Assists customers with residence queries, ensuring prompt follow-up and excellent customer service
* Liaises with external suppliers where cleaning/maintenance issues are reported
* Completes weekly occupancy statistics
* Ensures allocation information sent to residence suppliers is accurate and on time
* Prepares arrival & departure documents and provides keys for all arrivals
* Follows up on any welfare and disciplinary issues together with the Residence Manager and ensures sanctions are applied in line with EF’s residence rules and regulations
* Assists with the training and supervision of temporary staff/interns
* Participates in student intakes and first week chats
* Shares emergency duty on a rota basis
Requirements
* Given the on-call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to the nature & hours of work undertaken is essential
* Familiar with Microsoft Office and CRMs (desirable)
* Highly motivated, energetic, positive
* Customer service-oriented, friendly & approachable manner
* Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations
* Sensitive to the needs of international students living away from home
* Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients
* Attention to detail, organised & thorough
* All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references
* Legally able to work in the UK at commencement of employment
