What you'll do As a Senior Project Manager at Sainsbury's, you will be part of the Retail Projects, Construction and Delivery Team responsible for overseeing and delivering multi-million-pound physical change projects across our estate, ranging from multi-site category changes, store improvements to the construction of new supermarkets and local fulfilment centres. In this role, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of property-related retail change projects, ensuring adherence to time, cost, quality, and safety parameters while complying with legal and statutory requirements. You will be responsible for managing various aspects of the project, including health and safety, minimising disruption to customers, resolving issues that may arise, producing high-quality project plans, and providing technical expertise in collaboration with consultants and internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage and control capital and revenue expenditure, prepare project documentation, communicate effectively with internal and external parties, and mitigate risks throughout the investment and change process. Your role will involve indirect leadership of external contractors and suppliers, stakeholder management, and staying abreast of industry trends and developments. Through your experience and strong project management skills, you will drive successful project outcomes while leading cross-functional teams and making strategic decisions within the framework of governance. Who you are As a Senior Project Manager, you are highly experienced in complex, commercially focused project management ideally within retail. With a logical and systematic approach, you consistently deliver well-structured and thoughtful projects that meet time, cost, quality, and safety parameters. Your expertise in managing multiple outsourced service providers and leading cross-functional project teams allows you to influence and hold them accountable for their performance. You possess excellent stakeholder management skills, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level. With your strong commercial acumen and budget management skills, you rigorously challenge costs and ensure capital control throughout the investment process.
