Accountancy firm in the city of London has a vacancy for a trainee accountant/bookkeeper who ideally has previous experience working in an accountancy practice.
This full-time role offers the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of clients across a variety of sectors. It will help you develop your technical skills and professional development.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and VAT return submissions
2. Manage financial administration and electronic document organization
3. Prepare statutory financial statements from primary records or trial balances
4. Compile management accounts and assist with reporting
5. Respond to management inquiries related to financial data and reports
6. Prepare tax computations and returns
7. Communicate with clients and support senior staff and managers
8. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
Skills / Experience:
1. Academic background in accounting and finance
2. Good knowledge of Word and Excel
3. Previous experience of using Sage Accounts, Xero, and QuickBooks would be advantageous
4. Previous experience of tax (payroll, personal, and corporation tax) would be advantageous
5. Accuracy and attention to detail
6. Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines
7. Ability to communicate effectively
8. Confidence and professionalism when dealing with clients
9. Ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team
