Are you a Principal / Lead engineer with extensive experience in the design and operation of offshore mooring systems? Interested in the opportunity to guide & mentor an engineering team on some exciting & high value projects?
If so, NES Fircroft are recruiting on behalf of one of their O&G/Energy clients, who specialise within mooring solutions, for a Principal Engineer on a permanent basis.
Based in Aberdeen, you will be leading the delivery of engineering projects across the client's range of services, in compliance with the appropriate technical, company and industry standards.
In regard to experience, we are looking for someone that would class themselves as an advanced user of Mooring analysis & Marine dynamics software. The types of packages commonly used in the role include - Gmoor32, Orcaflex, Ansys Aqwa & Strand7.
Some key responsibilities:
1. Provide the primary interface with clients, vendors and third party contractors in delivery of projects, tendering and new opportunities; ensure maintenance of effective client interfaces.
2. Enact continual improvement in work delivered by the engineering team through identification and implementation of improvements to policies, standards and procedures.
3. Assist Engineering Manager in planning and delivery of engineering technical activities.
4. Develop the technical capability and expertise of the company and promote a culture of excellence.
5. Deliver engineering projects as lead engineer in accordance with client and company expectations, ensuring quality of work, completion on time and in budget and compliance of contractual requirements.
6. Carry out engineering activities such as mooring system design, structural analysis and design anchor handling analysis, riser analysis, installation analysis, diffraction analysis, fatigue analysis etc as required for delivery of projects.
7. Provide technical advice in response to internal/external queries related to design, installation and operations of mooring & anchoring system.
Requirements:
1. Degree (2.1) in relevant Engineering discipline (Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
2. Minimum 10 years’ experience in the offshore energy industry.
3. Advanced knowledge of Marine operations including moorings/risers/subsea infrastructure installation and marine transportations.
4. Project management experience including tendering, financial, scheduling & creating deliverables.
