Rail Fleet Manager Permanent Kent
A leading company in the passenger rail sector is currently recruiting for a Fleet Manager on a Permanent basis.
As Fleet Manager you will be lead and manage a team of Fleet Engineers to develop and improve rolling stock. The team will be involved in identifying, developing and implementing a range of fleet development initiatives across the feet to improve safety, reliability and passenger experience.
The team also provide technical support to business critical projects and support the major programme team in outlining specification through to design, development, approval and implementation.
You will be involved in;
* You’ll be responsible for managing engineering changes and chair meetings to ensure business critical changes are being progressed within agreed timescales.
* Acting as the competent person and approve Engineer changes as part of the Safety management system
* Attending regular meetings on fleet development and representing the company at RoSCo and supplier meetings.
* You will be responsible for ensuring fleet development activities are managed effectively to reduce potential risks.
* Supporting materials with technical investigations and determine rout case and failure analysis.
* Regular reporting on fleet development activities.
* Management of a diverse workload within a large team of qualified Fleet Engineers.
What they are looking for;
* Extensive experience in an Engineering Environment within the Rolling stock sector
* Qualifications to HND/HNC minimum within and Engineering Discipline
* Knowledge of reliability growth models and techniques. Particular skills in structure problem solving using recognised process such as FMEA, RCM, RAMS or FRACAS.
* Ideally you will have experience of maintenance management, maintenance plans and documentation.
* Proven leadership and management experience as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
* You will have experience in project management particularly structured time management and planning, resource identification and utilisation and prioritising.
* Ideally you will have knowledge of Railway Group Standards, ROGS and other relevant rail related standards. Knowledge of Interoperability (RIR) and Technical Standards for Interoperability
* The post holder must be able to attain Personal Track Safety Certification.
The roles is days based working Monday to Friday with future potential to Hybrid working. They offer salary circa £60,000 - £65,000, plus excellent benefits to include Free rail travel on relevant network as well as discounted rail travel on other networks.
