Marketing Communications and PR Officer A leading organisation based in Newtownabbey, are currently seeking an experienced Marketing Communications and PR Officer to join their team. This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position (with Hybrid Working). Working hours: Mon - Fri 37.5 hours per week. With a salary of £29,859 - £38,046 per annum (dependent on experience). Job Role: You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of a full range of proactive marketing and communication activities across the business to support the delivery of the organisation's strategic and corporate objectives. Essential Criteria: Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in a wide range of Marketing/Communications/ PR activities. A degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Business Studies or an equivalent level 6 qualification, as per the UK qualifications framework in a relevant discipline. (consideration will be given to applicants who do not hold a degree in a relevant discipline but who can demonstrate at least 3 years relevant experience). Good planning and project management skills. Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Full driving license and access to a car (please note relevant business insurance will be required on commencement of employment). Flexibility and availability to carry out from time-to-time duties outside of the normal working pattern and in addition to basic contracted hours. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Director of Policy and Development in the development of marketing communications plans and strategies to support delivery of the business strategy. To support in the preparation of promotional materials working alongside services teams and delivering on the brand management in the production of all digital and print assets. To work within the annual budget and to secure value for money support services e.g. design & artwork specialists, print suppliers and videographers. Develop, implement, manage and report on marketing communication campaigns to support the delivery of key services and the annual marketing communications plan. This includes development of key messaging and content (including writing copy, coordinating photography, video and graphics) online and offline advertising and media coverage. To work alongside the Digital and social media Officer to maintain and update the organisation's website and support with messaging and content creation for the social media messaging across the organisation. To evaluate the effectiveness of any activity using a variety of metrics and prepare reports with appropriate recommendations. To keep up to date with external insight and internal reviews of services to inform the Director of Policy and Development and support in the future development of plans. To build awareness of the businesses work in both jurisdictions, NI and ROI and to be proactive and innovative in identifying, organising and maximising PR opportunities. To secure press coverage and be comfortable in delivering engaging and relevant stories for the media. To be proactive in building the company engagement function in partnership with service teams which aims to give the people who engage in our services a voice through showcasing services. To think strategically about the direction the business is taking with external communications, and measure and evaluate this work against agreed KPI's. Engage with the media and build relationships, acting as point of contact in handling external media enquiries and proactive promotion of positive news. Support in raising awareness of the news across services and across the organisation through internal communication channels. To brief internal spokespeople on media opportunities and to prepare for any media contact, including interviews. To support in the research and preparation of press releases/statements in line with agreed key messages and organisational objectives. To work with the Director of Policy and Development to identify profiling opportunities and develop contacts and in line with the organisation strategy securing editorial in national and regional media channels. Monitor local and regional media coverage and highlight any issues of interest to the Director of Policy and Development. Monitor media activity and prepare media evaluation reports. Develop and maintain an effective media database. Assist the Director of Policy and Development in Public Affairs work in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to advance the organisation's profile and to raise awareness of the business and our services and on key matters relating to funding. Assist the Director of Policy and Development with occasional out of hours on call service e.g. media enquiries and emergencies. Assist the Director and Strategic Leadership Team in crisis media management. To work cross functionally with Services Managers across the organization. Provide assistance to the Director of Policy and Development in the research and co-ordination of responses to public consultations that relate to company services. To organise events in conjunction with commissioners and/or company led services showcase events. To assist the Director of Policy and Development in the research and preparation of speeches for senior staff. Advise and liaise with stakeholders across the organisation and suppliers on the development and design of corporate publications, promotional items and display materials.
