Do you have a passion for motorsport or engineering and want to harness this with a career in procurement? We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain at Aston Martin F1 Team as a Junior Technical Buyer.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Support in the procurement and expediting of components used across an F1 car – ensuring components are purchased with Quality, Cost & Lead time considered and ensure all risks to the business are mitigated based on the requirement.
2. Take ownership of a small number of commodities with support from the wider Procurement team.
3. Inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
4. Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
5. Support the wider procurement team during peak periods, including but not limited to sending RFQs and open order reports.
6. Work with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoice queries from orders to ensure payments can be made to suppliers and maintain consistent supply.
7. Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all departmental KPI’s, processes & behaviours.
8. Support other team members on supplier visits to develop understanding of audit process and build knowledge within the supply chain.
9. Work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.
10. Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role.
Skills & Knowledge Required
1. Possess some knowledge of Formula One or similar procurement.
2. Possess good problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to resolving issues.
3. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365 or similar.
4. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power BI.
5. Be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
6. Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
7. Communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
8. Have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
9. Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills and when to ask for help.
10. Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
11. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
