A unique opportunity exists for a Process Engineering Team Leader in our fast-paced R&D environment. As the Process Engineering Team Leader, you will lead a team responsible for designing, commissioning, and optimising pilot plants and bespoke process development equipment, as well as site utility & infrastructure assets. Your role will support innovation and continuous improvement, driving transformation in R&D operational activities.
You will lead, manage, and develop the team to provide process engineering support to the capital projects and engineering support teams. Additionally, you will provide technical support and coaching to the wider TRES process engineering group.

Your responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineers, including conducting performance management and identifying training and development needs.
* Execute and lead process engineering design activities, following JM standards and procedures.
* Facilitate continuous improvement in EHS performance through close partnership with process safety, engineering assurance, and IT cyber security.
* Develop process engineering designs, including pressure relief systems, heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development, and process safety design.
* Collaborate with other R&D centres to leverage best practices.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the process engineering team.
* Lead process hazard assessments, including Hazard Studies, LoPA, and Area Classification.
* Work with internal customers such as R&D teams, engineering teams, and site utility teams to resolve technical issues.
Requirements for the role:
* Degree in Chemical Engineering with strong learning agility.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Experience in Process Engineering at pilot scale and in R&D operational environments with multi-scale activities.
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong communication skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders.
* Ability to coach and develop team members.
