Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Family Liaison Officer to serve as a vital link between our organisation and the community, particularly focusing on children and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering relationships, facilitating communication, and ensuring that the needs of children are met effectively. This role requires a compassionate individual who is committed to enhancing the well-being of children through collaboration with various stakeholders.
Duties
1. Act as the primary point of contact between the organisation and families, schools, and community groups.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, educators, and local organisations to promote programmes and services for children.
3. Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events aimed at engaging families and raising awareness about available resources.
4. Gather feedback from families and stakeholders to inform programme development and improvement.
5. Provide information and support to families regarding services available for children.
6. Collaborate with team members to create informative materials that highlight resources for children and their families.
7. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of outreach initiatives aimed at improving community engagement.
8. Show your initiative and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of our school life and have the ability to draw on a wide range of support services, information, opportunities, and guidance.
9. Be flexible in your working style.
10. Be prepared to work closely with our Pastoral Team to offer our children experiences that they may not otherwise have.
11. Hold DSL status (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and have previous experience in dealing with complex safeguarding issues. This is a necessity as you will become the focal point and main Deputy DSL, completing referrals and attending agency meetings.
Requirements
1. A proven track record & experience in dealing with complex safeguarding issues is essential with further experience in counselling others.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for building rapport with families and community members.
4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
5. Organised approach to managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
6. A genuine passion for supporting children's development and well-being, and an understanding of social, cultural, ethnic backgrounds and heritage.
7. Possess effective ICT skills with a willingness to use new technology in the workplace.
8. Be committed to continuing professional learning; at MMAP we thrive on the feedback of others at all levels to become more successful in our roles and performance.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the community.
10. Emotional resilience is essential and must be capable of dealing with difficult situations.
