SEN Teacher
Location: Derby
Salary: £31,650 - £47,338 (M1 – UPS2)*
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: 1st May or 1st September 2025
Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity to work with a Special school based in Derby. The school supports 5-19 year olds providing education for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is passionate about working with children with ASC and SEMH. In this role, you will:
* Deliver a tailored curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
* Use creative and engaging teaching methods to inspire learning and development.
* Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated staff, including therapists and support workers, to provide holistic care and education.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
* Monitor, assess, and celebrate student progress, adapting strategies to ensure every child succeeds.
Qualifications/Experience
* A qualified teacher with [QTS/QTLS or equivalent qualification].
* Experience or a strong interest in working with children with ASC and SEMH needs.
* A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
