We have a vacancy for a School Crossing Patrol Operative for Lyme Community Primary School. The hours of work are 5 hours per week. The times of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 9.00am and 3.15pm - 3.45pm (variable to meet the needs of the service). Our School Crossing patrol operatives are essential to keeping children, members of local communities and pedestrians safe. Operatives are fundamental to ensuring the safety of children and other pedestrians when crossing in designated positions in congested areas throughout the borough. The post involves daily responsibilities including operating hazard warning lights on commencement of duty, controlling pedestrian movement while assisting them across the road and reporting any traffic incidents. This role requires key communication skills to successfully carry out the key responsibilities of the role. All our Operatives will be given full training in their role, empowering them to use the Health and Safety procedures as outlined in the School Crossing Patrol guidance booklet which will be available to our operatives.
