Principal Civil Engineer:
My client in Fareham, Hampshire is looking for a Principal Civil Engineer due to expansion.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Principal Civil Engineer to lead and manage civil engineering projects across a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure. You will oversee project delivery, manage teams, and provide technical expertise, working closely with developers, local authorities, and architects. The role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression, with exposure to complex engineering projects and responsibility for guiding junior staff in their professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead a Civil Engineering design team responsible for drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes.
2. Manage and allocate team resources for the design of drainage systems in accordance with standards such as Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, and the SuDS Manual.
3. Oversee the design of on-site and off-site highways, ensuring compliance with standards including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) working towards CEng status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
2. A degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
3. A minimum of 8 years' experience in a consultancy environment, with extensive project management experience.
4. Experience leading and managing teams, including the ability to conduct appraisals, identify training needs, and ensure high performance.
5. Proven track record of managing civil engineering projects, including drainage, external works, and highways elements.
6. Experience working with local authorities, developers, and architects on a variety of civil engineering schemes.
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Site 3D (or equivalent 3D software), with knowledge of other engineering software.
