Graduate Naval Ships Systems Engineer

BAE Systems offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. On our Graduate programme, it is expected you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. The specific hybrid working arrangements, including required on-site days, will be outlined by your line manager.
We design and build a full range of naval ships from offshore patrol vessels to giant aircraft carriers, giving customers the capability to fulfill extensive naval operations worldwide. We are the only provider of complex warships and their combat management to the UK Royal Navy’s surface fleet. Do you have what it takes to join our Naval Ships team?
What you will be doing
As a Graduate Systems Engineer, you will work in a holistic, multi-disciplinary role, focusing on the bigger picture and bridging the gaps between disciplines. Throughout the different stages of a product lifecycle, you might support activities in:
* Design and development using modelling and simulation techniques
* Development and management of technical information about our systems and products
* Seeing our products in action as they are integrated and tested in labs or on platforms
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supporting the development of strategies to ensure systems are designed and integrated to satisfy customer and business needs/requirements.
* Capturing and analysing requirements to understand the customer/business needs and system context.
* Supporting the design and optimization of system architectures and solutions using system modelling techniques.
* Facilitating successful integration of systems and sub-systems.
* Identifying and managing interfaces, dependencies, and failure modes.
* Determining the emergent properties of a system to support trade-offs, optimization, risk reduction, and testing.
* Defining the verification and validation approach to achieve certification and system acceptance.
* Supporting the identification of safety hazards and the assessment and mitigation of safety risk.
Minimum Requirements
As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any STEM-related subject.
