Alchemy are partnering with a leading freight forwarder based in Hull who are seeking a Logistics Officer to join their team.
This role will oversee all import and export tasks while maintaining client relationships, handling queries and resolving complaints.
Responsibilities
1. Respond to customer inquiries and manage interactions effectively.
2. Cultivate and sustain strong relationships to drive business growth.
3. Monitor and follow up on customer satisfaction levels.
4. Actively promote services during client engagements.
5. Lead by example, embodying company values and mentoring others.
6. Oversee and coordinate daily operational tasks.
7. Manage feedback and implement process improvements.
8. Handle import/export documentation and ensure compliance.
9. Collaborate with international partners to resolve shipping and documentation issues.
10. Negotiate costs with freight providers and subcontractors.
11. Prepare competitive proposals and tender responses.
12. Provide accurate and timely quotes for import and export services.
13. Manage and reconcile financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
14. Conduct monthly reporting and implement actions based on findings.
15. Efficiently process and approve customer invoices.
16. Keep accurate records and databases related to shipping activities.
17. Assist with various administrative and data management tasks.
18. Ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations, both administratively and operationally.
Skills Required
1. Over 3 years’ experience working in an operational role within the Freight Forwarding industry.
2. Confident user of MS Office such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
3. Knowledge of EU Customs best practices for import and export is a distinct advantage.
4. Confident on the phone and able to work well within a team.
