Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist with General Practice experience.
The applicant will need to be able to work accurately, within a multidisciplinary environment, showing empathy and exhibiting excellent communication and patient service skills.

Main duties of the job
As a General Practice trained Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist you will be required to undertake Phlebotomy, Spirometry, Vaccinations (Flu, Covid, Pneumonia, RSV, Shingles, B12 and nasal flu), Wound Dressings, ECG's, Blood Pressure, NHS Health Checks, Long Term Conditions review preparation.
Provide chaperone and minor surgery support to the wider clinical team.

Framlingham Medical Practice is a dispensing rural practice with approximately 9,500 patients.
Our team consists of: 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 3 Nurses, a Nurse Associate, a HCA, a Phlebotomist, 2 Paramedics, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Pharmacist, Dispensers and a Physiotherapist .
The Clinical team is supported by highly professional and well organised administration and reception teams.
The practice has SystmOne as it's clinical system alongside a number of digital platforms such as Accurx, Anima Workflow, eConsult.
We are a training practice and welcome University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia final year medical students on placement. We will welcome our first GP Registrar in February 2025.
We have also just been accredited for Research and have started our first research projects.

Job responsibilities
To provide the practice's patients with excellent clinical care, working under the direction of the GP's and Practice Nurses, in accordance with our policies and procedures. Practice in a confident and safe manner working to a high standard of Infection, Prevention and Control.
Ensure Health Care Assistant practice duties are undertaken in line with ordering policies for vaccines and consumables. Ensure all clinical rooms are stocked on a daily basis.
Required to undertake mandatory training, updates and refresher courses. Identify and undertake continual professional development to develop the role further.

1. GCSE English and Maths Grade A to C
2. Qualified to a minimum NVQ level 2 in Health Care
