We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join the Mechanical Fitters team at our NOV site in Middleton.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Mechanical Fitter
1. Assemble Pump & Mixer equipment whilst working to company procedures.
2. Fitting of components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications.
3. Work closely with colleagues during build/install to ensure a smooth and efficient build process.
4. Ability to conduct production tests to established procedures, and complete accurate test reports.
5. Ensure all components which are being assembled are fit for purpose.
6. Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
7. To operate equipment in a safe manner, producing products which conform to quality specifications.
8. Recording work carried out for tracking purposes.
9. Providing cover for any other positions within the department.
10. Working to and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
11. Comply with all NOV Company, Quality + HSE policies and procedures.
12. Travel as and when required.
13. Perform any other work-related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needs.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Mechanical Fitter
Must have served a recognised apprenticeship.

QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical Fitter
Essential
Time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3.
Desirable
HNC / HND qualified or equivalent, with a Mechanical Engineering bias.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential
1. Experience of PC pumps and waste water product assemblies.
2. Mechanical Seal knowledge.
Desirable
1. Extensive experience of PC pumps and waste water products, preferably within a service background.
SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:
Essential
* Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook).
* Manual handling training / Slinging & Lifting Training.
* HSE awareness.
Desirable
* Basic Electrical experience.
* Motor Wiring certified.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
* Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
* Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
TRAINING:
* Participate in training where required.
