Boys’ Division Senior School is looking to appoint a Science Technician, on a permanent basis. The hours of work will be 35 hours per week, term time plus an additional 10 days to be worked in the holidays.
The main duties will be to provide effective technical and practical support for staff and students during science lessons, which involves preparing appropriate apparatus, setting up demonstrations as requested, delivering apparatus, equipment and materials to specified lessons, ensuring necessary hazard warning/safety instructions are supplied and followed.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of all the sciences, have excellent time management skills, the ability to work as part of a team, prioritise tasks whilst maintaining a flexible approach to the working day.
Experience of working in a laboratory, along with working as a school science technician is desirable but not essential, as is knowledge of maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

Two adjoining and similar buildings, now attached by a state-of-the art Sixth Form Centre, house the Boys’ and Girls’ Senior Schools, each of which provides a traditional academic education from the age of 11 years. The Primary Division includes separate Junior Schools for boys and girls from the age of 7 and a co-educational Infant School and Nursery.
