MBDA is looking to recruit an experienced and professional Project Manager, with an engineering background ideally in Structural or Electrical Engineering, to join its CSS Export Infrastructure Projects Team.
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Location: Bolton, Bristol or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: We endeavour to offer a Hybrid working pattern.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
You will be involved in all design and construction activities from requirements capture and Infrastructure Programme development, to appointment and management of consultants who will lead design activities, to oversight of construction and handover/acceptance phases.
* Leading the collection of customer requirements and establishing necessary in-country laws, regulations, and standards which will govern design.
* Translating the requirements and applicable in-country codes and standards and harmonising those with the technical and end-user requirements needed to develop proposals for storage, maintenance, and operations of munitions and associated systems.
* Managing and delivering the Projects to Time, Cost, and Quality (TCQ) targets.
* Organising Projects and establishing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), proposing infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorising major decisions, validating design and site integration, as well as managing risks and opportunities.
* Possessing the courage to speak up and challenge projects which may be off-track or at risk to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
* Applying best-practice working and demonstrating safe working practices to ensure that MBDA maintains its duty of care towards all employees.
* Participating in the technical validation at gates between project phases (design, construction, etc.).
* Developing and maintaining the team repository of projects, good practices, and harmonised methods.
* Being a source of expert advice and technical excellence for any infrastructure topic within the company.
* Developing opportunities for the team in participating actively in commercial campaigns.
* Contributing and being involved in establishing contracts.
What we're looking for from you:
* Willingness to travel globally on a frequent basis.
* The ideal candidate will come from a design engineering background, with knowledge of Structural Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* Engineering Degree Qualification or higher in relevant Engineering or Construction is highly desirable.
* Experience and good knowledge of construction contract management.
* Experience and knowledge of leading projects through RIBA Plan of Works stages.
* Ability to develop enduring relationships with the Customer Community, accurately capturing and developing customer requirements into functional and compliant buildings.
* Able to harmonise requirements between UK Regulations, In-Country Regulations, and Technical Requirements.
* Organising Projects and establishing optimal WBS and OBS.
* Proposing infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorising major decisions, validating design and site integration, as well as managing risks and opportunities.
* Applying best-practice working and demonstrating safe working practices to ensure that MBDA maintains its duty of care towards all employees.
* Participating in the technical validation at gates between project phases (design, construction, etc.).
* Ability to exploit opportunities for the team in participating actively in commercial campaigns.
* Ability to effectively communicate within MBDA and with multinational customers.
* Ability to present complex proposals in a simple and effective way to senior internal collaborators and/or Customer Organisations to gain their approvals.
* Ability to lead multi-functional project teams on new projects, including management of external consultants and main contractors, to meet programme, cost, and quality requirements.
* Ability to adapt to changing and diverse workload with autonomy and resilience.
* Demonstrating a positive, proactive, and professional approach, even when under pressure.
