Job Description Share Share Share SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Chesterfield Salary: £90 to £110 per day Start Date: ASAP GSL Education are looking for experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants across client schools located in Chesterfield for the ongoing term. We believe, with right support and inclusive learning strategies, every child can show their highest potential. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be motivated and committed to providing support to students on a 1:1 basis or small groups upon requirement. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, You will- Assist class teachers in conducting lessons and managing the classroom environment. Follow the school’s behaviour management policy to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all. Assist relevant subject teachers in handling student behaviour. Support students with additional needs, such as SEN, SEND, SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD. Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will possess- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or other relevant degrees. Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one). Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners.
