Healthcare Support Worker - CYP with Complex Needs
Join to apply for the Healthcare Support Worker - CYP with Complex Needs role at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Firvale nursing team is looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our growing service for children and young people (CYP) with complex healthcare needs at HHFT. The Firvale nursing team works closely alongside our Community Children’s and Special School Nursing teams within an integrated service to provide care to children and young people with complex healthcare needs.
Firvale provides planned episodes of care in a purpose-built, home away from home environment, aiming to maintain health and wellbeing while offering families valuable time to rest. Care breaks range from evening sessions to weekend stays.
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with experience in health or social care roles with children and young people. Ideally, you will have experience working with children with significant health needs; however, full training will be provided for an ideal fit. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with our wider multi-disciplinary team and external agencies to improve outcomes for children accessing our provision.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
This role involves preserving high-quality care in a positive, stimulating, and safe environment. You will work in the four-bed unit, focusing on delivering outstanding clinical care for children and young people with lifelong health needs in a nurse-led team. You may also support outpatient clinics that run in the same building, assisting a medical team to facilitate a range of clinics in this community setting.
This challenging and rewarding role offers the opportunity to meet the health needs of children, young people, and their families within a multidisciplinary inter-agency framework. Innovative and creative individuals are encouraged to join our forward-thinking and energetic team. Professional development opportunities are supported, and we provide clinical supervision, regular appraisal, training, and support in achieving your personal development plan and wellbeing in the workplace.
Please note that it is essential to hold a driver’s license and have access to a car for this community role.
