Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced qualified Psychological Therapist to become part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway working within the 3 local prisons across Norfolk.
This is a fixed term role of 12 months covering maternity leave.
It is a lead therapist post, therefore, established experience in leading and managing a team as well as excellent clinical skills is essential.
Due to the fixed term nature of the role, evidence of valid prison vetting clearance is required.
Main duties of the job
You will be welcomed into the prison IAPT services which is a small highly experienced and supportive team with enthusiasm to make a difference!
Therapeutic modalities offered within the service include CBT, CAT, counselling and EMDR.
The post holder will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working within the busy prison environment.
You will be providing leadership as well as both clinical and management supervision to trained Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, trainees, Psychological Therapist/Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners within the service, ensuring adherence to National Guidance including NICE.
The post covers HMP Norwich, HMP Bure and HMP Wayland.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Responsibility for providing highly specialist clinical practice within the prison Wellbeing Service.
· To provide leadership to trained Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, trainees, Psychological Therapist/Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners within the service, ensuring adherence to National Guidance including NICE.
· To provide both management and clinical supervision, including supervision of supervision to Band 7 Psychological Therapy Supervisors/Senior Therapists.
· To lead and assist in the development and co-ordination of effective audit and reporting tools for clinical supervision, practice and activity, within the IAPT framework.
· To lead and provide training sessions to support the clinical development of all clinical staff.
· To work collaboratively within an integrated clinical and operational leadership team in providing strong clinical leadership across multiple locality teams.
· To lead and assist in the development of IAPT/Wellbeing Services with NSFT in conjunction with the Service Manager, Clinical Lead and Commissioners in line with National Guidance.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Post Graduate Training in specific psychological therapist (e.g. CBT, CAT or counselling) BABCP or BACP NCPS accredited
* Prison vetting clearance
Experience
* Experience in providing relevant management and clinical supervision to junior colleagues
* The ability to formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programs for clients and advise other clinicians on their therapy programs.
* Experience of leading and assisting in the development of IAPT/Wellbeing Services in line with National Guidance
* Ability to lead and assist in the development and co-ordination of effective audit and reporting tools for clinical supervision, practice and activity, within the IAPT framework.
