Work Hours: Account Management Consultant - Luton, Bedfordshire - £35-40k + Car + Benefits - Established Software House
This role sits within a well-established computer software company, specialising in the development and supply of works/maintenance and asset management systems to local government and utility services sectors. Because this Account Management Consultant role requires regular visits to customer sites, a company car is provided as part of the package. The Consultancy department is expanding, and there are many opportunities for career progression within the department.
Responsibilities:
1. Account Management – Establish and develop key stakeholder client relationships (existing portfolio and relationships).
2. Sales – Non-targeted, mutual benefit, opportunity spotting.
3. Project Management – Software implementations, new systems, and upgrades.
4. Pre-sales Activities – Conduit between technical and non-technical user teams.
5. Attendance at seminars and User Group meetings, which might require a presentation.
6. Product Consultancy – Developing SME (subject matter expert) status on a specific part of the system for others to consult with their clients.
7. Quality Assurance – Software testing prior to new releases.
8. Training – Ensuring clients get maximum ROI (return on investment).
9. Customer Support / Support Escalation – Dealing with unresolved ongoing support issues to a successful conclusion.
10. Documentation Production – Assisting in the production of training manuals and documentation to support clients.
Skills:
The successful candidate will have the ability to contribute within a number of the above activity areas, together with the enthusiasm and commitment to extend their skills base throughout the team functions. A capability to work both individually and as part of a team is required. First-class communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. Above all, care and attention to detail and an aspiration for perfection are required.
Experience Requirements:
Previous software applications experience of large-scale commercial systems is essential, whilst local government, civil engineering, or construction experience would be advantageous.
