Girls’ Senior School (11-18 Years)
Required for September 2025
We are seeking two dynamic and talented Teachers of Physical Education to join our well-resourced, thriving department. With an impressive record of success across a wide range of sports, we are looking for individuals who can contribute to and complement the strengths of our team.
For one of these positions, it would be highly desirable for the successful candidate to specialise in lacrosse, bringing expertise and enthusiasm to further develop this area within our school.
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and committed teachers and sportspersons, with the willingness and ability to play a key role in the School’s extra-curricular programme, including after-school and weekend practices and fixtures across all three terms. Expertise in coaching netball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, water polo, hockey, athletics, football, cricket, rugby, outdoor pursuits and/or dance would be particularly desirable. An ability to teach PE up to and including A Level would also be an advantage.
With some 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school. It is situated a mile or so from the town centre in a stunning 32-acre campus and is within easy reach of some of the nation’s finest cities and countryside.
The Department is lively and energetic, as well as being committed to developing the girls’ confidence, fitness, and enjoyment of physical education. In the Department, the teachers value teamwork and a genuine interest in sport. There are four full-time teachers within the Department, including the Director of Sport, as well as a part-time colleague who teaches in the Junior School. Each member of the Department has particular interests and areas of expertise across a range of sports, but all support each other with the delivery of the extra-curricular programme.
For further details and to apply online for the position please visit the School website.
The closing date is noon on Monday 24 February 2025. However, please note that applications will be considered in order of receipt, and interviews, which begin on Wednesday 12 February, may occur at any stage after applications are received. Should suitable candidates be found before the deadline, the vacancy will close.
A generous level of PPA is provided which allows members of staff, as valued professionals, to manage their time appropriately and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
