The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating bespoke test equipment and supporting innovative projects across multiple industries. You’ll have the chance to work on diverse engineering challenges, from concept design to commissioning, all within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Developing concept designs, proposals, and quotations.
* Creating mechanical designs and assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
* Conducting FEA analysis and preparing detailed manufacturing/assembly drawings.
* Specifying equipment, managing suppliers, and overseeing manufacturing processes.
* Supporting assembly, rig-building, installation, and commissioning activities.
* Preparing risk assessments, user manuals, and project documentation.
Who They’re Looking For
This role is perfect for individuals with a strong mechanical engineering background and a passion for solving design and assembly challenges. You might be a graduate (BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng, PhD) or a time-served professional with significant experience in manufacturing and design.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Proficiency in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred).
* Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of manufacturing techniques and assembly processes.
* Familiarity with GD&T and working to drawing standards.
* Commercial awareness and project management expertise.
